Rome man charged with felony forgery

A Stonewall Street man remained in jail Friday night after he was arrested and charged for allegedly signing a name that was not his on seven different medical documents and also giving police the false name, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Lonnie Lamar Martin, 40, of 226 Stonewall St., was charged with seven felony counts of forgery in the first degree and misdemeanor giving false name or address to a law enforcement officer.

Martin allegedly signed the name Lamar Smith to the documents as well as telling police that was his name.

He was being held without bond.
