AT&T may show off an LTE Windows 8 tablet at CES

There is most definitely going to be a lot of tablets shown off at CES next week and AT&T appears to be on-board as the nation?s second largest carrier is said to be getting ready for the unveiling of an LTE-enabled Windows 8 tablet.

Windows 8 would be a new competitor in a market that is dominated by the Apple iPad and littered with a crop of Android tablets. Windows 8 debuted in beta form a couple of months ago to mixed reviews, but the Metro UI is made for touchscreens rather than the PCs in which it was being tested.

The Windows 8 tablet that AT&T is prepared to show off is said to be powered by a Qualcomm based ARM processor. Word of a Windows 8 tablet that is backed by a Qualcomm processor first broke back in September. It is possible that a Qualcomm chipset could also find its way to Windows PCs as well.

While some analysts may believe that Windows 8 is going to be too little too late, as consumers we can?t really ask for much more than more choices. Once again, CES is only around the corner so we will have to wait and see what?s in store for us when it comes to tablets featuring the Windows 8 platform.
